Baking is the harmonious combination of the right ingredients, precise measurements, techniques, chemistry, and a dose of creativity. In this WSQ certified Basic Pastry Preparation course, you will learn about the principles, methods, techniques and recipes of making six different types of pastry products. Mould yourself into a confident pastry chef through the hands-on preparation of various doughs and batters, applying the mixing, piping and baking methods in the basic pastry making processes. Master these basic pastries to embark on more baking adventures ahead!

  • At the end of the course learners are expected to be able to:
  • 1. Make basic cake in accordance with the industrial standards
  • 2. Make cookies in accordance with the industrial standards
  • 3. Make muffins and scones in accordance with the industrial standards
  • 4. Make tarts and short-crust pastries in accordance with the industrial standards
  • 5. Make choux pastries in accordance with the industrial standards
  • Age: 21 years old and above
  • Education Level: Primary education
  • Workplace Literacy & Numeracy Level: At least level 2 (listening/speaking and reading/writing)
  • Have attained competency in Fundamental Pastry Preparation course (Level 1 or equivalent) or have knowledge and experience in preparing fundamental pastry products
  • The course fee is S$1296.00 (incl 8% GST) per participant.
  • To help companies and individuals offset the cost of training, SSG will provide funding for the course fee (eligible Singaporeans, PRs or LTVP+ holders only).
  • INDIVIDUALS - Up to 70% course fee
  • SME - Up to 70% course fee
  • NON-SME- Up to 50% course fee
  • Assessment will be conduct via Written Assessment and Practical Performance Assessment.
  • Trainer : Trainee Ratio - 1 : 20
  • Lectures, Group Discussions, Hands-on Practical, Trainer-led Demonstration
  • Full Refund will be made if the course is cancelled due to lack of participants or unforeseen circumstances.
  • Any cancellations made after closing date (14 days to course date) – No Refund
  • Any cancellations made before closing date (14 days to course date) – Full Refund
