Workplace Safety and Health for Food and Beverage Operations (Level 2)-AOP


Workplace safety and health (WSH) is an essential consideration in the food services industry. With the potential for injuries and accidents in every aspect of food and beverage operations, it is crucial for workers to follow WSH practices in their work area to protect their safety and well-being. Upon completion of this course, learners will acquire the knowledge and abilities to support organisational WSH by conducting checks according to work plans and instructions.

Course Objectives

  • 1. Describe safety management systems in the food services industry
  • 2. Observe organisational policies and procedures relating to WSH
  • 3. Identify unsafe work conditions and practices
  • 4. Maintain control measures in the work area
  • 5. Recognise safety signs and hazard symbols
  • 6. Use tools and equipment safely

  • 18 years of age and above
  • Able to speak, understand, read and write simple English
  • No formal academic qualifications and no other pre-requisites is required

  • The course fee is S$129.60 (incl 8% GST) per participant.
  • To help companies and individuals offset the cost of training, SSG will provide funding for the course fee (eligible Singaporeans, PRs or LTVP+ holders only).
  • INDIVIDUALS - Up to 70% course fee
  • SME - Up to 70% course fee
  • NON-SME- Up to 50% course fee

  • Participants will be awarded a Statement of Attainment by SSG upon passing an oral/written examination and practical assessment administered by Ascendo Academy.

  • Full Refund will be made if the course is cancelled due to lack of participants or unforeseen circumstances.
  • Any cancellations made after closing date (14 days to course date) – No Refund
  • Any cancellations made before closing date (14 days to course date) – Full Refund
  • Ascendo Academy reserves the right to cancel, reschedule the course, amend course content if necessary.
