Discover Vietnamese Cuisine (Level 1)

Upon completion of this course, learners will acquire the knowledge and abilities to prepare Vietnamese cuisine and understand their cultural significance. Learners will be familiar with the ingredients and cooking techniques for creating authentic Vietnamese dishes.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the course learners will be able to:
1. Understand the importance of ensuring workstations are ready and adopt safe practices for storage of food
2. Understand the uses of kitchen tools and equipment, and able to assemble them
3. Describe the types, characteristics and functions of ingredients, and able to follow the recipe to prepare and assemble the ingredients correctly.
4. Follow the methods and apply techniques to Vietnamese cuisine

ADMISSION CRITERIA

a) 18 years old and above
b) Primary education level
c) Workplace Literacy & Numeracy level: At least level 2 (listening/speaking and reading/writing)

COURSE FEES AND FUNDING

The course fee is S$500 (excl 8% GST) per participant.
To help companies and individuals offset the cost of training, SSG will provide funding for the course fee (eligible for Singaporeans, PRs and LTVP+ holders only):
Singaporean Aged 21-40 years / PRs / Non-SME - Up to 50% course fees
Singaporean Aged above 40 years / MCES / SME - Up to 70% course fees

ASSESSMENT

Participants will be awarded a Statement of Attainment by SSG upon passing assessment administered by Ascendo Academy.

CANCELLATION & REFUND

Full Refund will be made if the course is cancelled due to lack of participants or unforeseen circumstances.
Any cancellations made after closing date (14 days to course date) – No Refund
Any cancellations made before closing date (14 days to course date) – Full Refund
Ascendo Academy reserves the right to cancel, reschedule the course, amend course content if necessary.
